My Dad rents his island property when we aren't using it(and actually may be ready to sell it). It is a rental property that is somewhat different than mainland renting, a safe and sturdy boat must be available for traveling in all weather, public docking is helpful, trash removal and cleaning is tough, but not impossible. The benefits are numerous, seclusion from the crowds, privacy, relaxation, sunsets, sunrises etc.
A realitor who specializes in these types of properties exists in Wolfeboro back bay area. The best way to learn about the renting of island properties is to experience it yourself before committing to a investment such as this. We have been on the island and renting for over thirty years and never regretted it once. Good luck and do your homework, island living isn't for everyone! |
