Default Deck?

What are we going to be looking for now on DRH's deck?

Default Caught Me!

Yep the weather was perfect on Sunday and Monday for staining the new lumber on the deck, after having looked at the raw wood all winter.

A Norway Pine decided to come crashing down on the deck in a wind storm last November. The crushed rails and a damaged floor board were replaced shortly thereafter, but I wanted to let the new pressure treated wood dry out over the winter before being stained to match the rest of the deck. It does look a bit better now, doesn't it?

As for what you'll be seeing on the deck going forward ... one useful feature of my "digi-cam", as opposed to a true "webcam", is that my digi-cam only snaps photos when I press the shutter button! So I can be very selective about what the digi-cam (and you Forum members!) will be seeing!

Better be careful or the entire world will know the secret West Alton location where the Babes On Sleds gather for their pow-wows!

Isn't it about time for another gathering? You know, to heat up the water.

Default Not Yet

I’m still in FL getting in some last minute boating before I’m selling my boat May 4 .
Boat slips & gas for my current boat here is $12000 per year. They charge by the cubic inch.
I will get a smaller boat next October. I have several buddies that have the big ones I can gone on
I did 20 lunches cruised, twice monthly parties, twice monthly boating lectures & 1 overnight this season with my cruising club. I also did once a week personal trips. Great season . We never had a trip cancelled because of weather.

I’ve been watching the ice out Cams as I sit in the sun . Thanks for the views and pictures.
I return May 9 and my Winnie boat goes in the next week.
I’m one of the folks that got priced out of my lake front home. I built a new home in suburban Wolfeboro
last fall. I lucked out on the mild weather. The house was basically finished at New Years and I moved 156 boxes in before I returned to FL. I haven’t stayed there yet but will May 9. You can guess what I will be doing when I return.

This is exactly what I and others have been talking about. Established families that can't afford to stay on the water! Sorry.

Gee thanks, McD ... caught me in my lovely work clothes!

It's all we can do to keep up with with our own deck/dock repairs, much less work on yours! In fact, our dock got whacked by the ice in last Monday's storm and it now bows about 6" to the west and the outer end got pushed several inches up off the pilings. As Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say, "It's always something!"
