Any one get a direct hit last night during the storms? I had my security system blown. It was quite a jolt. I'm near Forest Rd in Wolfeboro. I also heard that So. Main St got it and trees were down at Roberts Cove.

Was it this bad around the lake, I hope not, I would not like to come up tonight to do repairs instead of enjoying the sunset. I did not even think it was going to be that bad last night, I was reading passing showers

I was watching the jolts that looked like hits in Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro.. then the island shook... and felt like a jolt south of me.. then the lights went out for the night... was a tad warm here.

WOW!
Last night I was coming up through Wolfeboro in a car thank god when BAM the most intense lightning show I've seen in a long long time hit. Unfortunately I had to get back to the Island from Pier 19. Thank god for good neighbors who picked me up from Pier 19 so I could leave the little Whaler there. Needless to say we beat the storm as it really never hit Tuftonboro as bad as it hit Wolfeboro. I hope everyone survived the storm with no damage. That is the kind of stuff that reinforces your respect for mother nature. |

There was a report of a tree through a house on Roberts Cove but I can't confirm it. Wednesday did bring 2 storms near the lake. The first went through Moultonborough and Tamworth around 7:30 pm - only grazing Black Cat with a whole 0.03" of rain - and then around 9 pm the second one appeared over West Alton and moved to Wolfeborough between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

Nothing in Gilford, didn't even rain where we live. Its always interesting how varied weather can be around the lake.

Canis, you are probably correct because Lakeside is just off Robert's Cove road and I heard from someone who had just come from there that there were 4 maybe 5 houses with trees on them.

We watched the storm from our porch with a view from Alton Bay towards the mouth of the bay and LIttle Mark Island. It was spectacular - until there was a clap so loud that we all went screaming back into the house to watch from the living room.
![]() It was really something to see. Most of the lightening we saw seemed to be up towards Moultonboro (we can see Castle in the Clouds from our house) and over towards the Weirs with a few to the east as well. It only rained for a few minutes. We did see a tree down on a house on Thursday, but I cannot for the life of me tell you where it was. We drove around the lake that day so it could have been anywhere. Jersey Girl (sadly back in Jersey)
