Default New Hotel in Weirs ?

According to an article in Sunday’s WJS:

A New York-based investment group is planning to build a luxury hotel in the Weir’s Beach section of Laconia, New Hampshire.

This new hotel will be located near the entrance of the historic lake area known as the Weirs Beach and will consist of 41 two-bedroom suites. Amenities will include a spa, fully equipped workout area complete with three individual lap-swimming tanks, indoor pool with Jacuzzi, and 3-5 shoppes. Suites rates will start at $410 per night, and packages can be obtained that feature stay and play deals with various golf courses, boat dockage, and winter ski plans. A day care is also planned, so adults can enjoy a day away without the children.

The initial presentation to the Laconia Planning Board is expected to take place later on this spring, according to the chief developer, Pesce d’Aprile

$410 a night??!! On the Weirs strip? Don't see how the place will "fit in" initially. Maybe it will be a new beginning for an area growing a tad bit outdated?

Yeah, saw that coming also. All the April Fools joke the last few years have taken the form of press releases and such written to sound overly "official".

One of these days it will be true. The Weirs has been a prime location for thousands of years.

Weirs needs an extreme makeover. It used to be a family resort but now pretty much caters to bikers.I can't see anyone paying $400 to stay at the Weirs....well....maybe for a week.

Your right, the 5 arcades and bumper cars are crazy slammed every bikeweek.

A week at one of the area's rental houses will run you about 3 times that, no Jacuzzi though (unless the neighbor leaves the dock bubblers in).
