Bearing protection

Just brought my boat home from the marina for its spring detail. Upon final inspection this evening, I noticed that one of the four wheels was missing part of the bearing protector. The trailer is a 2004 "American" tandem axle, galvanized, bunk model. Visually all that remains on the "suspect" wheel is a grease covered spring. What would be the quickest fix? Would a "Bearing Buddy" housing and "Bra" do the job? My biggest concern is water contaminating the assembly while it sits in my driveway. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have an extra bearing buddy you can try and have it if it fits.There are a few different sizes but try this one there is a good chance it will fit. I'm in West Alton.If you want it give me your phone and i'll call you.You can measure to see if it will fit.

Any decent auto parts store will have what you need. Measure what you have and buy one that fits. The grease will protect the internals in the mean time, just don't dunk it yet.

Thanks dva and Dave R. I think I'll try the parts store approach. I appreciate the offer dva, but I live in Nashua. As always, it's a great feeling knowing what a resource this site is.

Make sure you measure the ID (Inside Diameter) of the hub very carefully. It is important for the bearing cap or bearing buddy to fit in there very tightly. They are often difficult to get on, since they are so tight.
