I thought that Winni was the largest lake contained within the boundaries of one state (east of the Mississippi). But, today I read on CNN that Moosehead Lake in Maine is claiming that title. The article states "At 40 miles long and 20 miles wide, Moosehead is the largest lake in Maine as well as the largest body of water east of the Mississippi within the confines of one state. "
Don the Webmaster, can you clarify? |
