Default motor vehicle learner's permit

Does anyone know for sure if a 16 year old with a Massachusetts learners permit can drive in NH with a MA licensed parent? We asked at the MA registry when he got the permit and they said it depends on the state, course this was the same person that asked my son for his visa/alien card and he said what's that? They theirselves could hardly speak english. We've been trying to locate info on the net but haven't found the answer yet. How about you Skip? Any info on the laws you can send me?

I just got my license in June, and beforehand I knew that no learner's permits are issued in NH. At least that's what the driving school said. As far as I know, you can drive in NH with a Mass permit, but I'm not positive.
