In case anyone is interested, I just picked up a couple books for my Kindle Fire from Amazon about this area. They are "Boats and Ports of Lake Winnipesauikee Volume II" and "Cemeteries Around Lake Winnipesaukee". The cost was $9.99 each. Both have quite a few historic pictures.

Just bought the cemetery book - the actual book (not the kindle version) is available used for under two dollars.

"Not Without Peril" Nicholas Howe; for the hiking types (experienced or novice) Everyone who thinks about hiking the Whites should read this book!
"Among the Clouds: Work, Wit & Wild Weather at the Mount Washington Observatory " Eric Pinder "Mountain Voices: Stories of Life and Adventure in the White Mountains and Beyond" Doug Mayer and Rebecca Oreskes "Peak Experiences: Danger, Death, and Daring in the Mountains of the Northeast" Carol Stone White Not owning a Kindle or the desire to, I am not sure if these are available for one, but are all good reads for the area hikers and peakbaggers. |
