Default Just Curious

My wife and I ate at a very well known dairy bar in the lakes region on Fri the 13th of August. I know, I know (Friday 13th), we've joked about that one. However I have been extremely sick since that afternoon, and was just curious if anyone else might have gotten sick friday from eating in the lakes region?

Question Curious, too...

Extremely sick for three days!

What does your doctor think might be the cause and the illness?

Have you notified the eatery?

Eat anywhere else Friday?

Make sure you go to the doctor!!! The key is getting diagnosed!!!(Most likely you will have to submit a stool sample) The average incubation period for food borne illness is 24-72hrs. Hope your feeling better!!

GWC, I just went through it knowing I would feel better with in a period of time, I did't call my Dr, LOL a Doctor on a late Fri afternoon or a weekend, he was probably out on the lake, maybe going though the graveyard towing a rafter, who knows. No I did not notify the eatery, for the same reason I did not name the eatery in my orginal thread, obviouly no one else had a bad experience there or they would have mentioned it. But taking Monday off from work helped considerable and am feeling much better now, thank you both for asking!

Fisherman's Friend,Lakegirl is right.....It's very important to get diagnosed, for your own sake and so the business will know and take corrective action. In this day and age ,though,it is very rare to get a foodborne illness in a restaurant due to frequent Board of Health inspections as well as required safe handling proceedures that are required of food handlers. Most often it is a stomach flu and the first thing that comes to mind is the last thing you ate.The most common foodborne illness is probably Listeriosis which has a more than 2 day incubation period.Salmonella can hit you in 6-48 hours and is a little more serious. The only one I know of that has a rapid effect is staphylococcus which does last for two or three days. The symptoms are nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps.I would definately get a stool sample to your dr.
