I'm not a cell phone owner so have no knowledge of the particulars of texting. Someone said it's against the law to "Text" while driving in NH. So if a LEO stops someone for "Texting".....How does the LEO determine that texting was actually occurring?
Does the LEO have to confiscate the phone on the spot, as evidence of the crime? Couldn't the perpetrator just DELETE the screen ..or message....when he saw the blue lights? Inquiring minds.. ![]() |

The police can obtain records from the wireless carrier as to the activity at the time of the stop. If a text was sent, the time stamp would be incriminating. Cell phones are now routinely sent to a lab in traffic accidents where they are suspected of being the cause. I can't imagine anyone concentrating on texting while driving. Just a second or two with the eyes and mind away from the road can be quite hazardous.
Cell phones make for quite the PC buzz nowadays. But there are other distractions. I've seen drivers reading the paper while driving. ![]() For those that golf, a great analogy for many of today's drivers would be a 30 handicapper playing from the black tees ![]() |

It is indeed OK to Text while driving...but one must posses strong "knee/steering wheel cooridination" skills.
If stopped by the police, simply inform him or her, that you have a strong knee. |

I hear you,NoBozo.......in my younger days,I had to stop drinking Corona beer because it was too distracting to cut up a lime behind the wheel.

I know I'm slow, very slow but what's LEO? It's probably so simple it escapes me? ![]() |

Truck driver texting is how the dispatch gets in touch with the driver, and vice versa. Most 10-wheel semi tractors have a text-er device with a small screen mounted top of the dashboard, next to the cb radio.
Talking on the cell phone, texting, and shifting a non-synchro tranny and smok'n, all at once, is probably going on. 50% of all truckers are cigarette smokers. Truckers are supposed to pull over when texting.......yeah sure.....like that really happens! What's next.....satellite tv on the dashboard?

Is there any type of law that says a driver should have at least one hand on the wheel when the vehicle is in motion? Or is this one of those things that falls under the "too stupid to be mentioned" clause of lawmaking?

Give Us A Break! Most can't pay attention to the many driving rules as it is, let alone being involved in a cell phone conversation or God Forbid Tex-ting while behind the wheel...
If anyone wants to make more sense, save lives and do it other than from behind the wheel!!!! Love Terry __________________________________
