Is This An Owl On The Downing's Landing Web Cam?
I have been checking the web cams at Downings Landing every day to see how much ice is out prefatory to April 1st (opening day of the salmon season). Just now I spotted this thing sitting on one of the poles. It sure looks like a big owl, but it's broad daylight and the animal hasn't moved a muscle. Maybe it's a fake one put up to scare away the birds?
Here's a closer look: |

He's still there
Amazing, he keeps coming back and sitting in the same position...obviously a seasoned hunter who knows that his prey will get used to him if he doesn't move.

I notice he is down wind in the picture. Another sign of a seasoned hunter.

Enough of the bad jokes! Hoo started this anyway?
PS... He's still there today! Maybe this another "Jimmy" thing?

And if they did, it surely would be a case of fowl play. It would take a very intrepid fowler to catch this guy, with everyone watching the web cam, maybe even hearing him yowl in fright!
