Kara's Cafe & Cakery (the old Village Perk)
Just happened to notice that the cafe in the old Village Perk space was open so I thought I would check it out. I'm glad I did as it looks like it is going to be agreat new addition to Meredith. I've tried attaching a page out of their menu. Husband and Wife owners - the wife Kara is apparently a very accomplished pastry chef and it is apparent in her excellent baked goods. They also make some killer guacamole which was REALLY good. Also tried the coffee which was very good and locally roasted. Sounds like they are really going to focus on fresh locally harvested ingredients. Although I'm a huge fan of the Meredith Bay Coffee House I think this place will be an AWESOME addition and I'm really stoked with the new option.
Best of luck to them both! |

Agreed!
My friend and I stopped by Kara's today and we were both impressed with the look and feel of the place, the display of fresh baked goods, bagels and home made cream cheeses. The new owners are very personable excited about their new business.
A great addition to Main Street Meredith! |
