Hi all,
My brother in law is coming out for the weekend from New York and we are planning to do some riding (PWC). He has boater safety certification from the state of New York. Is that acceptable in lieu of a temporary New Hampshire safety certificate? Jetskier ![]() |

If he has a certificate form NY he should be ok if it is the same as NH's program.
per..... Saf-C 6101.01 Applicability. (a) Pursuant to RSA 270-D:10, I, no person shall operate a motorized vessel with any type of power motor in excess of 25 horsepower on the public waters of this state without first obtaining a certificate of boating safety education in accordance with these rules: (b) Pursuant to RSA 270-D:12, these rules shall not apply to a person who is licensed by the state of New Hampshire or the United States Coast Guard to operate a commercial vessel. (c) Pursuant to RSA 270-D:15, these rules shall not apply to a person who holds a certificate from: (1) Any state indicating successful completion of boating safety education that meets or exceeds the requirements of RSA 270-D:10 et seq. and these rules, as determined by the department; (2) The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary; or (3) United States Power Squadron. Call the marine patrol in Gilford. They should be able to help you. |

NH recognizes out-of-state courses only if it is NASBLA approved. Card is required to have NASBLA logo on its face. If not, it does not meet the minimum national curriculum and will not be accepted.
