I saw on Facebook this morning that Scott Trexler passed away unexpectedly Friday night.

Dan
I was just talking to another marina local who said Scott was 61 and that it was a heart attack related to the same condition Scott's father died of in his 40's.

Terribly sad. Scott was super kind to us early in our boating lives.

61 year old. No cause mentioned, just that it was unexpected and at home. Probably cardiac as mentioned above by Think.

Scott and the entire crew at Trexler's were always great to us. Trexler's is a hardnworking family owned and run marina which is becoming more rare today. My thoughts are with the family and coworkers at Trexlers. This is a shock and a sad loss for many.

Scott was a class act. Kind, knowledgeable, and forgiving with customers who are occasionally dopes. He was not about money, he was about helping people enjoy the lake.

Separately, but related--if you're a dude of a certain age (pretty much all of you guys), tell your PCP you want a calcium score. It's an easy painless test which will give a rough measure of heart disease. Costs $200, not covered by insurance. My score led to other tests which showed that I was at high risk of a "widow maker" heart attack. I had no other symptoms at the time, and no above average risk factors. It probably saved my life.

I always found it odd that the insurance companies won't cover a cheap test, but are on the hook for thousands if a patient comes down with a serious condition that could have been prevented...

X2. My score was so high I don’t want to say it. I had a barrage of other tests that say I’m in great shape heart wise. Now I see the cardiac doctor in two weeks

But let’s not take away from the OP. Very sorry to hear that news. I remember his dad. Nice guy.

I have done business with Trexler's Marina for over 20 years. Scott and Denise were always honest and helpful, and Scott's mechanical knowledge was simply amazing. Sincere condolences to Denise and Quinn. May he rest in peace.

Scott was a great man. My daughter worked the gas docks for 4 years and had nothing but the best things to say about Scott and Denise

This is unfortunate news, I always registered my boats at Trexler's, and always had good conversations with Scott, and Denise while doing so.

The joke always was if I didn't see them before next year, that it was a good boating season.... Of course there was always a little something that would cause me to end up in there looking for a part, and Scott was very good at helping me find suitable replacement parts for items that we no longer available....
