I see adorable Daisy Duck sitting on her nest on Bear Island..

She is feathering her nest. Placing feathers between the eggs. I assume for protection.
Gestation is 28 days so she has a couple of more weeks to go. |

I am curious as I am not familiar with wild ducks' nesting habits. It appears to be in a flower box, is this something she has done in the past as well? Does she fly into the box or land on the dock and walk over to it? I guess she likes a pretty home. We have chickens and toulouse geese and I know the geese only mate and lay eggs for about 2 months before they start their broody stage. We had a nest full of about 20+ eggs and none of them hatched. It would have been fun if they had but keeping full grown geese is another story. Keep us posted.
