Default UFO in Laconia?

Today I came across the following in the August 2010 issue of SOCO (South Coast) Magazine: "Then there is the frightening account that took place on March 20, 2010 in Laconia. Sitting in their parked car, a teenaged couple observed a 'zigzagging or changing shape' cutting across the face of the moon. When the object drew nearer, they started the car and began to flee. At this point, according to the female witness, they were surrounded by blackness and a strange smell. The front end of the car was lifted off the ground, and they were dragged 180 feet until the UFO suddenly dropped them. The story was corroborated by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), with evidence including photographic evidence of the vehicle's impact on the ground, and the subsequent airbag deployment." Author of the article is Raleigh Dugal, and this is supposedly a legit publication. Anybody heard of this?

I thought you would do better than just a link. What about Jim Morrison and Brian Jones trying to beam down into the bodies of the teens? Come-on... be creative!

Well, as the ol' sayin' goes: "I don't chew my cabbage twice..."

Besides, I was busy setting up for a yard sale and it was starting to feel more like a career move than a project...

I see more and more people having Yard Sales these days. Garage Sales too. Must be the economy. Anyone have any luck selling their yard? I'd love to, and dispense with all that mowing, etc., but my wife won't let me. I couldn't sell my garage as then there'd be no place to put all the stuff from the yard.

I think it is in part to the economy that there's more yard sales and the like.

The Yankee in me won't let anything go without trying to squeak a penny outta it.

But business today isn't great... maybe because it's Sunday. I'm hoping things pick up after church is out...

Thanks for reading, John. The account you're referring to was confirmed by MUFON, with whom Peter Davenport is also affiliated. I am skeptical by nature, but if you take a moment to browse through the NUFORC database of sightings, Peter is very diligent in ferreting out false sightings.

I have it on good authority that the UFO sighting was an explorer ship that was out scouting new locations to host their annual "Flying Saucer Week". Apparently news of Laconia Bike Week has spread throughout the universe, and so Laconia was being scouted as a potential location for FSW2011.

Also from what I am told, it's unlikely the event will end up in Laconia though. There was some friction about how many saucers could be tied off together in a group and also some issues about a NSBZ (No Sonic Boom Zone).

I also heard that a Host program will be in place to check each ship for invasive intergalatic dust that may have attached itself to it's exterior.
Hull Number WILL be recorded, if this is not for you than I hear Pluto is having a less restrictive event.

The good thing though as an aircraft they will not be restricted to the speed limit.

Default Attention UFOers

Exeter, NH is holding its second annual UFO festival on Saturday September 4th.

That’s right; Exeter is the number three UFO hot spot in America. Last year we had over a thousand people show up for big event. It drew so much attention that this year it’s being filmed by two national TV shows and we're expecting five thousand in attendances. We have nationally acclaimed authors and UFO experts lecturing all day long, self-guided tours to the encounter sites, a genuine wreckage site (for the kids) and I'll be there with my fellow Kiwanis serving up UFO dogs & Roswell sausages. The day will be capped off with a gala UFO ball.

Why don't you take a day off from the lake and come on down for a real fun day.

Aircraft over the US have a 768 mph speed limit. There are exceptions for the military, but not for extra-terrestrials.

Now this is a serious question BI. At what rate will you be traveling to leave the atmosphere? And are you leaving from US soil or abroad?

I am certian that your travel agent filled out the proper permits for your flight, thus nixing the speed limit issue.

RLW, violating that speed limit noted will result in a big "Here I am" from anywhere within ear shot.

Our speed will be Mach 4 when the rocket shuts down. That is about 3,000 MPH. We will leave from and return to the Mojave Space Port in New Mexico http://www.mojaveairport.com/ The runway should be completed this October.

The 768 MPH speed limit does not apply to the VSS Enterprise because it's a spacecraft not an aircraft.

Now that you mention it I suppose the same is true for E.T. in his UFO. So I guess there is no speed limit for little green men.

And for adventurers like yourself? It will take a lot more than 768 mph to leave the earths gravitational hold I believe.
