Default A Sad Day for Meredith

"Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid announced yesterday that retired Meredith Fire Chief and Selectman Charles "Chuck" Palm has died. He was known to have been battling cancer for some time. There will be a memorial for him in Hesky Park Sunday at 1 p.m." -Laconia Daily

For those of you who did not know Chuck - you missed out! He was a wonderful man and a great friend to the town of Meredith. We have been "summer people" at Harbor Hill Camping, owned by Chuck and his wife Barb, for years and have just loved being part of the Meredith community.

The rest of the article is here. Chuck did wonderful things for Meredith and the Lake Winni community. He will be missed.

Default nice guy

He filled my propane tanks everytime I stopped in at the campground. Really nice guy. Would always be very talkative and have a story to share

Not just Meredith but all of the Lakes Region lost a good man. I had the pleasure of working with Chuck for years and there were few people who did more for their communities than Chuck. The guy started out a CPA and banker and then retired up here a fire chief, town manager, chairman of the BOS, and campground owner. Anyone of those accomplishments and a man could be proud - how Chuck pulled off that many things I will never know! I'm really hoping that the town will do something to remember him. He did so much for us its really the least we can do to remember our friend.
