Castle like restaurant
Pardon my ignorance but drove up this weekend to splash the boat and say that castle like building on the right hand side, heading north, between Alton and Gilford.
Looks like it is going to reopen after they trim all the growth away.....any thoughts? |

william tell inn
I think you are talking about the William Tell inn, there was an old post on the forum here is a little part of it. I also went by and saw some work going on.
1602 Mount Major Highway Alton, NH MLS #: 4174645 The William Tell Restaurant has been a Lakes Region landmark for over 30 years and is now offered for sale as a turn-key restaurant opportunity. The property is located on high traffic Rt. 11 East in Alton and has 2.22 acres of land with beach rights on Lake Winnipesaukee. The main floor of the restaurant seats 100 including the bar. There is a second floor function room that seats 50, and an owner's apartment with three bedrooms on the third floor. This property could easily be converted into either a large single family home or a multi family residence. This is a great opportunity for a chef/restauranteur or an expansion location of a current restaurant. Listing Office: Roche Realty Group, Listing Agent: Lyne Bonneau Price: $295,000 |

Now to be the Harvest Tavern
New owners are in the process of remodelling the restaurant and will be reopening as the Harvest Tavern, featuring All American food fare.

Nope!!!!! you are right, I are wrong
When I first heard about it, I thought I remembered it being the Harvest Tavern. Found out I was wrong. However, like a song you hate, but hear it on the radio, and now you can't get it out of your head....
Sorry Woodlands...once I get my next treatment at the home, I will be able to remember it again

Woodlands tavern
I've seen their stuff on face book and they are doing alot of work to the place things are looking good. I know the chef is very good at what he does and can't wait to try out the food. I know they have beach rights so I really hope we can get to them by boat. Does any one know if people would go to the William tell by boat?

Boating
Yeah I didn't think you could. Even if there is beach rights I don't believe there is a dock there. I'm always looking for places to eat from the boat.

Here is a link to their FB page.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Woodlands-Tavern/248756195268496 It does not appear that they have a website for the restaurant...only the FB page.

Called them
They are planning for the end of the week. With construction and permits it doesn't always go exactly to plan but very soon would probably be true.
The menu on Facebook looks tasty. Prices, well, $15 - $30 entrees with less costly pasta dishes. Competitive with other lakes region restaurants but not a "value menu". I look forward to trying them out. |
