Alton Bay Winter Carnival - Feb.15

ALTON — The Alton Winter Carnival will be held on Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Bay, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., sponsored by the Alton Business Association and the town of Alton. Games, music, food, prizes and fun will all be in the offering, featuring pancake breakfast, Chowder-Fest, kid’s ice fishing contest, helicopter rides, crazy hat contest, bobhouse decorating contest (register the day of the event at the ticket booth), skating, S’mores roasting, kid’s games, bed race, photo scavenger hunt and more. The Great Alton Bay Bed Race ALTON — Meredith Village Savings Bank and the Alton Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring the exciting Great Alton Bay Bed Race during the annual Winter Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 15, get outside and join in the fun. Great prizes will be awarded. The race is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on Ice Winnipesaukee. In the event of poor ice conditions, the race will not be held. To participate in the race, participants create a bed, put skis on the bottom and a push bar across the head and foot of the bed. A five-person team, four people pushing and one person riding, race the bed from the start to the finish line. Themed beds are always a hit. Cleats or spikes are not permitted and the bed rider is advised to wear a helmet. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 10 and participants who pre-register will receive a prize just for racing, call 875-0109 or parksrec@alton.nh.gov to sign up. The Great Alton Bay Bed Race is a great tradition for your family or organization to participate in, either by entering a bed or by watching this exciting race. Photo scavenger hunt at Winter Carnival The photo scavenger hunt is sponsored by Meredith Village Savings Bank and Alton Parks and Recreation and will be held Sunday, Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Alton Bay Bandstand. Using your digital device (camera, phone, etc.) take photos of items on the list provided and be the first person/team back with the most correct photos and win the hunt. Carnival
Plenty of snow and ice so everyone can enjoy the day. Have fun you lucky folks! Will it ever stop snowing? I live in Newton, MA. It's beautiful if you can stay inside looking out!
