I know we covered this already in the past? Sun drove by Ames Farm and the sign out front stated :" Sandy beach and Boat launch" I didnt notice that in the past and I was wondering if they resolved their differences/pissing contest in regards to launching boats on a regular basis? Thanks in advance

The sign has been there. I believe that if you are staying as a guest then you can use the beach and launch your boat. I'm not aware of any change in Gilford regulations as more general boat launching.

I thought maybe things changed there? Made life a lot easier when they were open to the general public

Yesterday I noticed about 10 +/- vehicles with boat trailers parked down near the launch. Maybe something has changed, may be worth a call.

Hope springs eternal. Bring back Roland (whom I have affectionately called the ramp lizard in past posts) but he was just like Rawhide (no pun intended) he could move them in and out like he was conducting the Pops.
Ames Farm was a perfect launch from the well maintained, deep cement ramps, to the ample parking for vehicle and trailer. Geez I hope they are back in operation, very happy with the Silver Sands routine, but I really learned how to launch at Ames. C'mon Don. |

Boaters and Fishermen
Please be courteous to our Ames Farm Inn neighbors by respecting the following: 150 yard buoy Swim lines of us and our neighbors must never be crossed. "Look Twice" when loading unloading your trailer. Many families cross the field and walk to the store/restaurant. Park in designated areas. For the comfort of our guests and meeting NH Leash Laws, dogs MUST BE on leashes at all times. Proper disposal of animal waste is expected. |

Yep, good old Lake Winni, hates dogs.Stay off boat ramps, beaches, NO at condo beaches, NO at St. Parks. See plenty of dogs, lots of Labs, but unless you have a $$ place of your own on the lake, keep your dog away.

That's absolutely right, because far too many people don't clean up after or control their dogs and they have, and continue to, destroy the privilege. And this is coming from a lifetime dog owner.

I just called Ames Farm to inquire about the launch ramps being open to the public this year. I was informed they are not open to the public, they are only available to guests while staying at Ames Farm.
Bummer. ![]() ![]()
