A friend and I are headed up to the lake for a weekend of fishing on June 3rd.
I have a small boat (15ft -- 15HP) but, do not have any fancy electronic gear (fish finders etc). Any advice ? Thanks, Dave. |

You may want to check with Hal Lyon(Halclyon as he is known on this forum) first because he says fishermen are staying away from Winnipesaukee. Its too dangerous. You could have fooled me a couple weeks ago during the Derby. It was like a slalom course out there. I hope I didn't swamp too many fishermen.

What are you looking to fish for? I can only answer the bass question. Launch out of the Moultenboro bay ramp and fish that entire are out to melvin Village. Its relitivly narrow compared to other parts of the lake and hold lots of both Largemouth and Smallmouth. The weather has been very cool this spring so the bass will be in some stage of the spawn. Fish shallow around rocky areas for smallies and back coves and weedy areas for largies. Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, slug-go and senko type baits will work great along with tubes and grubs. Use natural colors such as green (watermelon) grey (smoke) or brown (pumpkin) if you ask more specific answers I can give a more detailed answer
