Question Boat Launches

Hi,

Just wondering what good boat launches there are around the Moultonboro/Meredith area with parking.

I'm curious about Lee's Mills, the town dock at Center Harbor and the Meredith town docks. How much are the launch fees? How is parking, and how early do you need to get there?

We have a 19' bass boat, so we don't need a lot of depth at the launch.

Thanks,

You can launch from Shep Browns on Meredith Neck. The launch is public, not part of the marina. Don't park in the asphalt lot, there is a gravel one for trailers just up the hill. It $10 when the attendant is there on weekends, otherwise it's free.

How is the parking? Does it fill up fast? Thanks.

Parking is much better since they added the new lot last year. It has not been full, even on weekends, that I am aware of. There is a sign at the lot entrance that shows you how to park.

It's a double wide ramp in good shape. The public docks can be crowded on weekends.

The Meredith Police have increased the enforcement of boat and vehicle parking this summer. So it's best to do like the signs say.

The Alton ramp is public & its free. Trailer parking is up the road toward Alton center & then drive back to the town dock parking lot. It should be no problem anytime on a weekend.

There is a free public launch at the Libby Museum in Winter Harbor. Parking is behind the museum across the street from the ramp. On weekends before 9am should be fine. During the week, anytime.

I doubt the ramp in Lees Mills gets too crowded even on weekends. Its off the beaten path. The only drawback is that its a long ride to other parts of the lake but its one of my favorites. It may not be a drawback to you though.

I would stay away from the Meredith town ramp on weekends. Its probably the most crowded public ramp on the lake.

I think PROPELLER is talking about the Meredith town ramp in downtown Meredith. The town ramp at Shep Browns is no where near as busy.

You could try Ames Farm in Gilford -- on the Alton line. Twin Ramp, plenty of parking, and 2 minutes to the Broad's.

The fee is $20 to launch and park.

Did I mention they have a Great Breakfast at the Inn.

Note: Lee's Mill's is free, ample parking, and no need to run all the way to the main lake = great fishing nearby.
