We rely on the goodness of a neighbor on Rust Pond to get our boat in and out for the summer. That window is beginning to close as she gets older (and the neighbors complain lounder).
Does anyone know of a temporary boat launch kit or idea we can use to navigate the rocks on the shoreline and the 10 ft slope from the lawn to the water? Thanks. |

The length and weight of your boat is probably what matters the most. Possibly build an embankment ramp using pt 4x4's, and pt 2x4's with boat trailer rollers and a hand crank winch that will down load and upload a 14' aluminum vee hull w/a 15-hp outboard.
www.shoredocker.com makes aluminum embankment ramps with rollers. Consider tying the boat to a mooring buoy. Or, forget about the boat and get a paddle sup that can easily be carried down the embankment rocks into Rust Pond.

The issue is not what to do once the boat is in the water. We put it in before memorial day and take it out abou Columbus weekend. We have a dock to tie up to for the summer.
I have written to the company you suggested and will wait to hear if they can solve the issue of getting the boat (18' in/outboard) off the trailer in the spring and back on in the fall for winter storage. Thanks for you help with this. Greatly appreciated! |
