After the strange winter we have had, I am thinking about the best method of getting back and forth to our camp on Cow when the ice isn’t safe. Air boats appear to be the best bet, but where does one go to purchase?
Does anyone have experience with Air boats, hovercraft or other “winter boat?” |

Airboat Trader has many to choose from, though most are located in Florida or Texas.
Good luck! ![]() ![]() |

We have lived on Rattlesnake for as many seasons as we could possibly get there during the last 22 years. We have had both a small hovercraft and a much larger airboat. We feel the airboat is the way to go. Check out this link: http://www.yankeeairboats.com
This guy does 'em for a living, he's fair, and he sells them all over the nation. He makes them for Fire and Rescue, Fish and Game as well as individuals. Check it out.... DBA ![]()

Thanks, all! Now that I can "water boat" to Cow, I have time to look at all the options. An air boat taxi sounds like a great idea.
![]() With real estate on the lake getting more expensive and taxes, etc., going up, making our camps a year round retreat is making economic sense - not to mention that it's good for the soul! |

We live on Cow as well and have used a hovercraft to get back in forth over the past ten years. We have had two scats, and recently we purchased a two seat aerocruiser from hovercraft concepts. It is by far the best we have owned.

An airboat taxi sounds like a great idea! One of the marinas that stay open all winter should do this.
It could also come in handy for police, fire and utility workers. |
