Default Lakes Region-themed auction items

I don't know if this goes against the rules of the forum so if I'm out of line for posting this... please delete me!

However, the Winnipesaukee Playhouse (with the demise of Lakes Region Summer Theatre I can now say we are...) the Lakes Region's only professional summer theatre is having a Summer Kickoff Concert and live auction fundraiser on Saturday night.

We have put the auction items online and will accept online bids until Friday afternoon. Some of them have a Lakes Region theme so I thought you might be interested in checking them out. They include:

*4th of July Red Sox tickets
*a UNIQUE Kellerhaus experience
*Meadowbrook tickets
*a night at Mill Falls
*a night at the Opechee Inn
*a night of free babysitting and Playhouse tickets
and more!

If you'd like to check out the items go to:
http://www.winniplayhouse.com/Auction.html

All proceed support the Winni Playhouse, a local non-profit.

Thanks!

I wish you luck in your auction, but you must be forgetting the Barnstormers Theater in Tamworth. WINNER OF THE 2006 NEW HAMPSHIRE THEATRE AWARD FOR GENERAL EXCELLENCE IN THE PROFESSIONAL THEATRE They are an Actors' Equity group that has been in existence here in the lakes region since 1931. Some famous alumni are: Arlene Francis, Teresa Wright, William Christopher (MASH's Father Mulcahy), Norman Fell (Just Company's Mr. Roper), etc.

They are a great organization and the theater has expanded from just summer performances to a year round artistic venue. Check out their website: www.barnstormerstheatre.org

You might find the following links of interest, regarding the area of NH referenced as the Lakes Region:

http://www.visitnh.gov/

http://www.visitnh.gov/about-new-ham...s-and-regions/

Then, click on Lakes Region

Here's the map of the Lakes Region, just in case your efforts were not successful.

If you were able to observe the links, you will notice the town of Tamworth.

The staff at the Barnstormers are great friends of ours and we collaborate with them regularly. I don't think they would consider themselves the Lakes Region though.

The Barnstormers are a real treat. I don't think there are any bad seats in the house. You can have dinner in a local restaurant, reasonable ticket prices and free parking. It's a wonderful experience.

I think Tamworth would be considered to be in the Ossipee Valley....and it is my understanding that the Ossipee Valley IS considered part of the LAKES REGION. The Lakes Region of NH does not mean - Winnipesaukee - it encompasses a very large region including Newfound to the west and Ossipee to the East and everything in between!

Also - for ME - and others on the east side of the lake - Tamworth is closer than Laconia. I would absolutely consider Tamworth part of the Lakes Region. Go to Lakesregion.com and check Ossipee Region - and there it is in living color - Tamworth & the Barnstormers.

You don't actually get to the Mt Washington Valley until you get into Conway, as you are driving along route 16 in Conway - there is a sign "Welcome to the Mt Washington Valley!"

Default Oops

I was not really sure where the border for Lakes Region was since I do not live up there lol, I did a Google search on tamworth and I saw a website about Mt. Washington Valley and I assumed that is where Tamworth was since it had Tamworth listed on the Mt. Washington Valley website, my apologies for getting the incorrect info.

Note: I deleted the post from before since it was wrong, I do not like to leave incorrect information on this website, once again my apologies for not doing enough research and assuming where it was . Ghfromaltonbay was right it is in the Lakes Region hence thats why it calles LAKES Region not Lake Region lol my mistake and my apologies once again.
