excellent food and service
I have dined there the last two weekends and the food is great. I had scallops that were second to none. The resturant has a cozy atmosphere and I highly recommend it to others.

Not having a lot of disposable income, eating out at a nice restaurant is not an every-week activity, but last night I was able to get to The Restaurant 03894 for the third time. While I was eating my wedge salad with added steak tips I was trying to rememberer when I last I had such a good dinner in every way . . . . and I couldn't.
I like the Downtown Grille, WolfeCity Brick oven pizza, and am looking forward to Garwoods renovated space, but damn, The Restaurant kicks butt. |

Went Last Night
This place is sooooo sooooo good. I am very glad that our group decided to go and eat there. I would highly recommend this place. Service was awesome and the food was awesome as well. I had the seared scallops and they were amazing. We had apps. (wings, oysters, veggie rangoon,) all were awesome. In our party of 6 everyone pretty much licked their plates clean. Put this place on your short list, you will not be disappointed.

It is one of my favorite restaurants...great!! Siobhan, the chef, was formerly a partner and chef at Mise EN Place, my number 1 favorite. She's doing a fabulous job at The Restaurant. The ambience and service are also wonderful. Terri, her former business partner, is now the sole owner and chef at Mise En Place and continues to keep the restaurant the "jewel" of the Lakes Region.

Had dinner at The Restaurant last night. Thee have been some menu changes under Siobhan's direction and all are wonderful. The place was full by 7 PM and this on a Tuesday in April!!! What will we do when the tourists come!! Wish they took reservations for groups smaller than five!!

We went last Friday night with friends. All four of us we thrilled with our choices. Delicious!
As posted above, the place was packed. I'm sure they are getting some overflow resulting from Garwoods being closed. But they are always busy even when G's is open. |

Wish Garwoods would make some changes to their menu and moderate their prices, but I guess that's unlikely after the BIG renovation!

last Night
I went last night and was not impressed with the hamburger. I ordered a small and it was over cooked. They took it back but the new one was only slightly better than McD's. My friend had the pork and that was good.

That's surprising. Their burgers are raved about by the locals. Everyone thinks they are the best around. I don't eat burgers, so I don't know first hand, but my husband loves them.

I agree with Barbara, their hamburgers are great: large, juicy and flavorful. Are you sure you were at The Restaurant and not just a restaurant?

I love The Restaurant, but I have to say the burgers didn't really impress me. I don't care for the buns, which seem like a slightly fancy version of a regular grocery bun. I'd prefer a kaiser roll or something else with some body to it.

Still Wonderful
in the last week, I've had dinner once and lunch twice at The Restaurant. It has gotten better and better. The menu has been tweaked since Shiobhan has become the chef, all to the good. Specials show her very creative talents. Everything I always have there is great. The grilled flatbread I had yesterday was exceptional. I'll get it again the next time I'm there. Once the tourists are here in full force, it's going to be tough getting a seat at The Restaurant!!!

Went to lunch today. wife had the quiche and she tought it was great. I had fish taco and flavors were also great only concern was the taco shell was hard and flat so I had to try to eat with a fork and knife. We sat outside and there was a guitar player . Overall was very good and will be back

The Restaurant
Mrs. Nightrider and I went Saturday at the recommendation of RRR. Perfect night for eating on the outdoor patio. I had the tips and they were fabulous. Mrs. N had the salmon...also excellent. Our server was Tizzy who I thought I recognized but didn't say anything. I got home and realized that I think I knew her when she was just knee high to a grasshopper when I played Little League with her older brother. Small world!
PS. the beer was good also. |

Most locals (including me) love seeing the town shops and restaurants so busy during the summer season. It's great for Wolfeboro's economy!

So sorry, that didn't come out right! I too love the festive atmosphere that our summer visitors bring! I'm lucky enough to get to enjoy The Restaurant all year round, but I do stay away at dinner time in the summer because I know the tourists love it too. I'm amazed that someone went on a recent Saturday and had no problem getting seated. The Restaurant can have a wait even in the middle of winter. I do have to admit that I am happy in September to have things quiet down and life get back to normal.. I know many year round residents feel the same. That doesn't mean we don't appreciate what tourists bring to the town.

I also like it when it quiets down, but I also like sunny 85 degree days with warm water to swim in. The summer people go and then the autumn begins. Although autumn is beautiful many of my lake activities begin to wane---such as swimming and floating.

Nhescape and I had dinner at The Restaurant last night. The service was wonderful. Our server's name was Tizzy. The food was delicious. It is a very very busy place. Now I know why.

Had dinner at The Restaurant last night. We thought it would be empty as we passed the new Inn on Main which had it's grand opening last night and found the parking lot totally PACKED!! Surprise, surprise, The Restaurant was full too! Tizzy was our server....great service and a hoot to boot. Love her and Gary and Rob, the manager, who is so warm and welcoming to everyone.
Great night with friends at Wolfeboro's version of Cheers! |

Well we finally braved the Coast Guard and got a dock in Wolfeboro. Having been disappointed with our last outing at our perenial favorite Garwoods, we tried The Restaurant.
We arrived early and actually opened up their dinner service, first in the building at 5 oclock. The food was great, the service was great, the place looks great, even though I can still remember how the pizza shop fit in there. We had the steak tips and the curry. Both meals were very well done and good sized but not huge portions. The steak was ordered well done and it came out that way, no sending it back for being to raw or too dry. The curry was tasty but not too spicey hot. I wish I could remember our servers name, he was great, very personable. No place is perfect, so I list two drawbacks. One, the menu is thin. It's posted on line so I won't repeat it but there's only a few entrees. They're eclectic so it's not boring, but if I lived nearby I might run out of stuff to try. Two, it not cheap, it's not crazy but it's a couple bucks more than I expected. We will be back. |
