Does anyone know if there is any public access to the Pillsbury windmill site on Cow Island? I have an old guide book from the '70s that talks about tying up to the Camp Idlewild dock and asking permission to walk up to the mill. Has anyone been there or know of a landowner who might let a small group walk up to the site?

The old mill was disassembled, moved and reframed and finished as a private camp on Cow Is.

A while back I did a bit of looking around regarding Cow Island history. Can anyone back up the connection of the Pillsbury Mill on Cow with the now Pillsbury Flour Company? If I am remembering correctly, (through the Pillsbury site I think) I did learn that some of the founders of the company lived in NH, but not in the lakes region.
