Question Funspot's clammy bottom of the lake... It's Bizarre!

Time to get into the "way back" machine...

For the past several weeks I've had the old Funspot radio ad running through my head and would LOVE to know if anyone has a recording of it they could post. For those around in the mid-80s, you know the know the ad I'm talking about... It either drove you nuts or had you laughing your backside off every time you heard it. Of course I'm in the latter category as I'm still chuckling 20+ years later. The ad went something like...

"...I can't find a place to pahk, I finally find a place to pahk and have to walk across the hot sand, my feet are scowah-chin, they're on FIYA!!

Then I get in the watah, my feet are on the clammy bottom of the lake, I got sand in my undah-wayah, It's Bizahhhh!..."

I know it's stretch that the audio of that spot would still be around, but had to ask. WLNH maybe?

Default classic

Classic commercial! One of my favorites on LNH, I believe.

Another spot that pre-dates that on LNH -- the Laconia Pet Center...."Give crabs to a friend!"

Don't shoot the messenger, I just quote what's already been on the airwaves. ;-)

Default The scoop

Well, I went straight to the source and asked Pat Kelly, legendary on-air talent currently on WEMJ and Oldies 99 and 104-9. He said that the radio stations are running that Funspot ad again! The voice is of Boston comic Steve Sweeney! So if you listen to those stations, or their sister station, 98.3 WLNH, you may hear it sooner than later!!

Cheers!

Talking Oh My Gawwwwd!! This Is Soooo Bizaaahhh!!

I started laughing when I read the initial post - I LOVED THAT COMMERCIAL! There was the one up at the lake - and also at the same time the same comedian was runnin a similar one on WERZ - THE STATION THAT REACHES THE BEACHES! It was SUMMER OF 1985 or 86!!

The one at the lakes talked about the hawt sayand and clammy bottom of the lake! The one in Maine was from the perspective of CLAMS - something like - "Eat CLAMS - NOT LOBSTAHHZ! Lobstahz look like big red spidahhhz!! Why would you eat a big red spidah - clams ahhhr cute and taste just as good as lobstah so next time yoahr in MAY - YEN - try a clam instead of a lobstah!"

My friends and I - used to crack up everytime it came on the radio - then my friends came up to the lake to visit and we were out on our boat and heard it --- toooo funny!

Thanks for that flashback and great memory!!!
