Default Adding my wishes

We'll be having eight (6 two footed;2 four footed) family members, including an Air Force grandson here for two days...a regular turkey and a deep fried Cajun turkey, orange/pomegranite champagne cocktails, and all kinds of other goodies. I'm looking forward to a wonderful day and hope all of you will have the same.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

This one will be extra important, my grandmother was just diagnosed with the big "C" yesterday, with 4-8 months. Enjoy every moment you have with your friends and family this weekend.

Winn, we have you beat, 24 people, down from 29 last year, but some likely additions given the change in events.

Default Happy Thanksgiving

to all in Forum land. I am fortunate to continue my lake fix on Lake Norman in NC.

A local favorite Jimmie Johnson won his 4th NASCAR cup and its a party zone down here.

Everyone be safe when traveling and enjoy your turkey. It's Turducken in NC. LOL!

jmen24, so very sorry to hear about your grandmother. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, and--I am sure you know it already--you all will be very glad you've had this opportunity to come together.

You sure do have me beat...thinking back, I can come up with about 15, plus four dogs, once upon a time. That would be my best shot! Kind of curious, and I guess you'll be answering after the fact, how many turkeys got cooked for this gathering??

Bless you all!

Default happy T day

Jmen24 sorry to hear about your grandmother. I have said a prayer for her.

I guess I may win the prize for fewest at dinner today, 3. No worries though, lots of leftovers.

Just the two of us this year, our good friend Richard who has spent the last 26 thanksgivings with us passed Oct. 30th. Won't be the same without him, so cherish every moment and give thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving to all ! Every day is a blessing. This is the first Thanksgiving without my mother (she passed away last week), but her life was FULL and HEALTHY right up to the very, very end. And, for that we are truely thankful!

A great day to all

Regards,

Steve

McDude,
I had to bring this over.... LMAO

You Said

Thanksgiving madness here tomorrow. Can't wait to pack all the leftovers into a cooler and head up to the lake on Friday morning...taking care to avoid all malls and shopping areas along the way...for three days of R & R. Happy Thanksgiving to all! McDude
Why not try this tomorrow?

NEW TURKEY RECIPE
We should try this!
Sure to bring smiles from your guests!!
Here is a new way to prepare your Thanksgiving.

1. Cut out aluminum foil in desired shapes.
2. Arrange the turkey in the roasting pan, position the foil carefully
(see attached)
3. Roast according to your own recipe and serve.
4. Watch your guests' faces...

Thanks to all for the well wishes, the day was very nice for us and after a long conversation with my grandmother, she is completely at peace with the news, so therefore I am too. 82 years and no wants or desires, mind still at full click and physically active, she has no plans of slowing down. Treatment has been waived so she does not have to feel sick all the time.

Winn, this year it was a 31lbs bird, last year was a high 20 something and a second 10-12 lb in the deep fryer.

To IslandRadio and Riverat, I am sorry for your loss, that first year is always the hardest, my thoughts are with you.

RG, that is an awsome idea, it will be some time before I gain control of the T-day bird, but I have a small one in the freezer for mid-winter that I will have to "dress up."
