The boss has decided that it would be nice to build a rock border along part of the backyard.
I checked the Gilford town dump, but what they have is more of the "boulder" size rocks. I'm looking for smaller sizes, 12-18". Any suggestions? (Gilford, Laconia area)

Are you looking for free rocks? If so, I would stop into a freshly started new home build and talk with the excavation contractor, they may not be totally free and you will have to hussle to get them out of their way, but they will unearth plenty and anything that they do not have to deal with will make them happy.
I am just finishing a retaining wall with a mix of large 3'-4' stones, down to the small fillers and shim stone with everything in between. My suggestion to you is to make sure you get stone of all different shapes and sizes (that you can handle) you would also be surprised at how many you will need as you will not be able to use all of the ones you pick. |
