Sled Dog Races Back On!

Notice of Sled Dog Race in Laconia
Due to the current forecast of 12"+ of snow expected starting late tonight:

Lakes Region Sled Dog Club has decided to run a scaled down event to be called The Lakes Region Championship.
The race will only run Saturday and Sunday, February 12th & 13th.
There will not be a Main Street start/finish line. The race will start in the field across from the Prison on Route 106/Parade Road.
The Open trail will be approximately 12-13 miles long and will follow the traditional woods trail.
The 6-Dog race will be approximately 6 miles long.
The 3-dog junior race will definitely be Sunday but we will try to do a 2 day event for that class also.
***The purse for this 2 day event will be between $5,000.00 and $7,000.00***
The trail will be groomed Thursday and Friday and again before the race.
There will be more details available after this evenings club meeting.

Don't forget Winterfest activities going on all day, Saturday on Main Street, downtown Laconia!

8:30 am - Six-Dog Classic
1:00 pm - Unlimited Class
2:30 pm Register for Human Sled Dog Race
3:00 pm - 3rd Annual Human Sled Dog Race Main Street - Downtown Laconia
7:00 pm - Social - Public Welcome at Christmas Island Steakhouse

Sunday, February 13, 2005
8:30 am - Six-Dog Classic
12:00 pm - Three-Dog Junior
To be announced - One-Dog Junior
4:00 pm - Awards Ceremony at Start/Finish Line
