Weirs Beach Lobster Pound Brunch
Was up at the lake last weekend and saw the ad in the paper(not sure which one) for the Lobster Pound's Sunday Jazz Brunch. Five of us went, after a verrrrrrry long night, and I have to say, it was just what the doctor ordered. The spread was amazing. Eggs Bene, seafood crepes, omelet station, a carving station, the list goes on and on. We ended up staying for a few hours because we were enjoying the music, and all of the bloody marrys our server was forcing on us! Thanks Carmen, you were great. This was our second visit to the Lobster Pound, once was last summer and we really enjoyed ourselves up on the roofdeck. We will defiantly be back.

A good review!
Waterbaby, how can you say this is not a good review?
"The spread was amazing. Eggs Bene, seafood crepes, omelet station, a carving station, the list goes on and on. Not everyone is a perfect spellah! |

IMHO when a restaurant advertises that they will have an AYCE (All You Can Eat) meal it is usually called a Buffet. I guess you can call it a Brunch or Buffet but for me when I see Brunch it means ordering from a menu that has specials just for that meal. It is usually on a Sunday and served later than breakfast but earlier that lunch….it varies depending on the restaurant.
The LP ad states “Join us for Jazz Brunch” so I didn’t read any further as to it what they have. I like going to Buffets so when I see one that is advertised I research it further. The price for the LP Brunch is only $14.95 and that is a good deal (if the food is good) considering what they have. I guess the LP makes their money by “all of the bloody marrys our server was forcing on us!” (as Espo stated). Here is their ad: |

Brunch
I guess it's what you're used to, but when I see "buffet" I think of a lot of food of that meal, such as a breakfast buffet, or if I see a buffet in the evening, I'm thinking dinner fare.
When I see "brunch", I think of breakfast and lunch, with breakfast foods as well as lunch fare. As in their ad, carving stations are the norm. Usually it is still a buffet. Also, when I see a price of $15-20, I am thnking buffet vs a prix-fixe (sp) meal which is usually a single menu at much higher fixed price. Sounds good and I hope to go over and give it a shot (pun intended).

Weirs Beach Lobster Pound
I think Espo was only trying to say he had a nice time at the LP; I don't think he expected to run into a buzz saw of forensic grammarians dissecting his every keystroke.
After a couple of drinks the technicalities of grammar move to the sidelines and nobody really cares. I'm glad, Espo, that you had a fun time at the Lobster Pound. |

O dear God, more Lobster Pound nonsense.
Espo, this is a great site. Unfortunately you touched on a subject that rankles a vocal minority on here. Some people just can't BELIEVE that there are people who actually GO there and have a GOOD time! How DARE they! |

Here's the thing.............
The original post was fine and made me wish I was at the lake at this time so I could try it. I believe that they have a brunch in a restaurant in Church Landing as well. Brunch is a name that combines breakfast and lunch.... thus the BR for breakfast and the UNCH for lunch. Get it now?
PS I almost decided not to click on the restaurant link as there really can be some people who do harm to others and establishments here. Some just like to rant and rave it seems. Just ignore it. Shame on some of you!!! What would your mothers' say? |
