Anyone out there get stuck on the lift this past weekend. I was told that the new high speed quad broke down with a full load.
Everyone had to be brought down off the chairs with ropes. It broke down at 12:00, they got the last people off at 3:30. That lift has been having problems all year. I have not skied one day that it wasn't down at least some of the day. Glad no one was hurt. Hope they get the bugs worked out. |

I was there on Tuesday Feb 17th. This is Massachusetts School vacation week and it was a ghost town at Gunstock. No lines what so ever. Make a ton of runs. They blame it on the bad press they received about the lift being down on Sunday. The lift operated just fine on Tuesday. They only complaint I have is someone stole of backpack full of stuff. That was a bummer. Never had that happen before.

Bummer about the back pack.
I worked there and also know someone who works that lift and can honestly tell you that lift has been a nightmare for them. When it is running it's great but it has been so unpredictable. From observations I noticed that the more crowded the lift is the more problems they had. Maybe that it why it ran so good when you were there. As I said before I hope they fix it cause it's just as easy from here to drive an hour to Sunapee or Cannon. |

I've been enjoying the new lift. It's very fast and I've not had any problems. Of course I've been out of town all week so I missed the excitement. Hopefully they will get the bugs out of it soon. I know they are having a bad year (I think most ski areas are) but I understand they are having good crowds during vacation week.

Don't know how the above got into this thread.....it was a reply to the "Jerk is getting married" thread. I'm guessing that "Gunstock" was entered at the same moment that I entered my reply and they got mingled.......something like "The Fly".....kinda spooky
