Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to get wi-fi (not 3G or 4G) service on Rattlesnake Island? Thanks for your help, Julie Spence |

I've used Verizon 3G, and 4G on the broads side, now use Fairpoint DSL. My house is the very last phone pole, and the DSL is very slow, but workable. If you have an internet connection... then you'll just need a wireless router / access point.
A lot of smart phones can "become" a wireless hot spot. . . Though there are usage charges / data costs to pay. You should check with your neighbors, perhaps you can share what they've got. If you know someone on the mainland, you can use a wireless link with a directional antenna. Now... if we could come up with a good solid high bandwidth link, and then use 802.11AC to route it around the perimeter... We'd have something pretty fun going on. Are you on the broads side? Best wishes, -pontoonbarge |
