Mine is "Four Christmases" which I'm watching right now.

While not a Christmas movie per se, Laurel and Hardy's "Babes in Toyland," aka "March of the Wooden Soldiers" was always aired around xmas on NYC TV when I was a kid and I always watched it.

That movie evokes strong xmas memories for me.

Everyone got a Christmas movie this weekend, It's a Wonderful Life, Die Hard,
and Scrooged.

By generation everyone under 50 was Die Hard....50-60 Scooged, the elderly IAWL...

They're all great though, so no losers involved.

White Christmas is a must in our house.

Now here are the deep cuts:

A little unconventional, but based on a true story set during WWI: Joyeux Noel (2016).

Another lesser-known classic as well that we like is It Happened on 5th Avenue

And an underappreciated hidden gem is one I just have always loved since childhood is One Magic Christmas (1985, Disney+). It is not an upper, but it is poignant, well-acted, and simply an unconventional and beautiful Christmas classic in my opinion.

Another forgotten one that is funny and unique is A Child's Christmas in Wales (1987)

And yet another one we love that is hard to find except for on YouTube, Stubby Pringle's Christmas (1978) is touching and quiet and stars Beau Bridges.

Try some of these for something new and thoughtful this season.

Die Hard 1 and 2 - #3 I know, I know these aren't really Christmas movies, but they take place at Christmas time and therefor have become enshrined with Christmas.

The Christmas Candle - #4 Released in (2013) I think it has a great story line, plus Samatha Barks looks pretty good in late 1800's attire.

Rankin Bass Christmas movies - #5 There's 19 of them, from the 1st classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" released in 1964, to their last "Santa Baby!" released in 2001. Some are better than others, I haven't seen them all but it's a goal of mine, I have 6 to go.

There's a bunch more I like but I'll stop here.

- a heartfelt glimpse at a tough holiday, showing how family pulls tighter, no matter what the odds, to work it out.
"Dad, are we going to starve?"
"Heck no" says her apple orchard Dad, "We have apples...," as he grimly and viciously prunes the trees.

"Four Christmases" is a good one for sure. Personally, I'm a big fan of "Elf" with Will Ferrell. It's just so hilarious and gets me into the holiday spirit every time.
