Default electric backpack sprayers

I have a few staining projects this summer including a barn and a couple decks. Does anyone use and have any recommendations/thoughts on applying a product like Woodguard with an electric backpack sprayer?

For $99.99 Harbor Freight has a Bauer 20v cordless 4-gal backpack sprayer without the battery which is designed for spraying chemicals.

Will this work with either latex or oil wood stain?

Stihl makes similar backpack sprayers that cost $400-$500 that are also designed for spraying chemicals.

Harbor Freight has different 110v paint sprayers for either latex or oil.

You can probably thin out oil stain with paint thinner and use it in the $99.99 Bauer but maybe not?

Sprayers can make a fast mess and can be difficult. Nothing better than a roller and paint brush for best looking results with better control on the paint application.

I have a Ryobi, do not know if they changed the design, it had the battery in the center back - very inconvenient.

For $129.99 suggest you check out the Avanti 110v paint and stain two-stage sprayer sold at Harbor Freight. Just needs a long extension cord. My guess is it's a low price sprayer that probably works pretty good especially with oil based stain and forget about using a backpack cordless sprayer designed for spraying chemicals.

Avanti $130 ...... http://www.harborfreight.com/2-stage...yer-64933.html ....... customer video ...... www.avantipaint.com

You know Walmart-Gilford has Olympic quick cover exterior stain in cedar or red wood for $14.97/gal.
