Dogs on Bear Island (Split)

Hi Bear Islander;

Not to hijack the thread, but I am curious what the dog issue is?? Is it simply dogs are not allowed on the island or is it no unleashed dogs on the island??

The reason I am curious, is my wife and I rented a place on ????? island last week for ten days, and I was very surprised to see that most island dogs were wandering around freely which I had no problem with as I love dogs, and all the dogs were very friendly and obedient. I had my own dog which was kept on the rental property, but she had plenty of visitors while there. I was also surprised that there were no "landmines" to be found anywhere! Maybe the dogs are trained to go in their own yard??, and maybe I was just on a side of the island where the landowners had a personal agreement with each other?? Anyway, your post made me curious as I just assumed (incorrectly) that all island dwellers allowed this.
