My wife and I rented a couple of 17-20 foot bow riders for a few hours each.. We took a ride in a New Dealer provided bowrider... with the dealer sitting up front.
Then we found a very used 18' Donzi Classic with a 350 mag...through hull exhaust. The used boat dealer launched the boat....started the engine...and said ....
Take It. He trusted us. We took it. We didn't buy it. We were still in the learning curve.
When we got back to the cabin we discussed the attributes of each type of boat. Our conclusion ..mostly mine..was this: The Bow Rider was very nice..and practical. But it didn't feel like we were taking our lives in our hands. The Donzi scared us to death. Totally outrageous. We decided right then and there , that we needed a Donzi. We spent two years looking for the right one. That was 14 years ago. We still have the Donzi.. we bought a 20' Donzi "Minx" Classic.

Just sayin how it was with us....NB
