Default Helpful Winter Tip

Since I started using my island camp on weekends in the winter last year, I was getting tired of replacing the AA and AAA size batteries throughout the camp because the cold would kill them quickly. Things like flashlights, TV remotes, closet lights, thermostats, etc, etc, all required constant replacing because alkaline batteries do not work or last very long in the cold.

Well this year before closing up camp, I went around and replaced all my alkaline batteries with Lithium batteries and everything works like a champ. No longer do I have to worry if that flashlight left in the cold closet is going to work! The TV remote works! Thermostats were still functioning!! Everything I replaced was still working as good as new!!

Lithium batteries are more expensive but work in temps down to -40 degrees so there is never an issue. I even started using them in my battery lights out in my bob house!! You can buy the AA size for a decent price in bulk at Sams club. The AAA are a little harder to find but can be bought on line at Amazon.

Buy extras because I think you will be amazed how many small items require these batteries, I know I was!

Dan
