Friday I made it 35 salmon caught and landed on flies since April 2nd, nailing four in the river in the middle of a midge hatch, using a little bead-head on a dead drift. As the sun warmed the water, a cloud of midges fluttered up off the surface, driving the spring salmon nuts! My buddy Trav clued in first, switching to topwater and I followed suit right away.
