Censorship on the forum? You decide.
During my Sunday night surf session, I was disappointed to see that the title of my initial “post’ (5-20-2011 @ 11:52pm), which raised the curiosity of our community and captured over 2,613 views, has been modified; Censored.
In fact, my description of Jo-Jo’s service, “slooooooooow,” and prices, “still overpriced,” has been completely deleted leaving only the store name, “Jo-Jo's,” to describe my experience. Could it be that since my observation, although factually supported with actual prices, wasn’t flattering and therefore censored? After a brief review of other posts in our forum, I notice plenty of threads that have effectively used their title to facilitate a balanced discussion. For example: • The marine patrol is ruining boating • Swim Raft Registration • Watch the water level • Windmills along the lake If the prior posts were also censored by the webmaster and renamed: • Boating • Swim • Level • Lake Would they still be meaningful? Thought provoking? Display a position or opinion? Aren’t titles important to our discussions here on winnipesaukee.com? Can any of the senior members or webmaster comment on how or why this censorship is allowed and would the arbiter of titles please explain the rules? Censorship? You decide. LTL (ps- I tried to attach a "poll" to this thread but since I'm new to this I don't know if it's going to work. Feel free to tell me how to add a "poll" so we can be heard.) |
