Looking at the storm now in the mid-west and the output from the models, the upcoming storm will likely be the storm of the winter for the lakes region. That is if we measure storms by snowfall alone.
My opinion right now is for a solid 12" to 18"+ of heavy, wet snow across the area. This is a bit higher than most forecasts at this time, but that is what I think will happen. Another long duration event. It looks like the lakes region is in the center of the heavy snow belt. It looks like the cold air mass will hold and with the amount of liqiud with this storm, this could go down as the big one. Enjoy it while it is here. The big melt is straight ahead. The March sun and warmer temps will eat at the snow cover quickly. R2B |
