Rifle caliber and history
I have been gifted a 7.55 Caliber Swiss carbine rifle.
Not sure of age but it iis in excellent condition. Bolt is unique with a pull-back bolt, really smoot, like a Mauser feel.... has a tilt-up type rear sight setup, short barrel, and fairly light in weight. I have been told this rifle is very accurate and has same or similiar characteristics of .308 caliber. That said could .308 ammo be used? If not is 7.55 ammo readily available, and how expensive relaing to .308 cost? Any info. about this rifle is appreciated. Would provide pics but believe may be against Forum policy? Thanks. Bigdog |
