We were out Saturday and Sunday on the lake and had no issues with the hard snow pack/ice. I have a studded track but others we were with didn't and no one overheated or got close to it. You had to be careful with the old tracks that have frozen solid they can toss you around a bit but we kept the speeds at a safe pace and had great rides.
