Are the physical demands similar to Mt. Major?
Hardly. From the Pinkham lot its about 3 1/2 times the vertical of Mt Major (1200 vert). From the Auto road its about 4 times higher. The shortest hike is from Jefferson Notch Road at about 3200 ft gain.
