Ackerly's Grill and Galley - Alton
Went into Ackerly's tonight with hubby and noticed there were no comments on the forum about this gem. Hubby and I are always looking for new places to try and this one is a great find! No mixed drinks, just beer, wine and soda and Angry Orchard (my fav!). Started with the calamari and seafood dip appetizers. Both were fresh and delicious. Continued with a bowl of the clam chowder. Very thick and flavorful, one of the best we have tried. Hubby had the rib eye with steak fries and I had the special NY Sirloin with an island chutney. Both were cooked perfectly, served hot and tasted excellent. Server was very friendly and checked on us several times, and others were running food as well. Finished off the meal with banana's foster, which I don't think had bourbon, but still tasted great! Presentation was good and the place was clean. For all that we ordered it came to under $100 with a generous tip.
Great little place in Alton that I think just opened this summer. It's located next to Fiddleheads Farm, across the street from TD Bank. I recommend checking it out. Their menu is online at: http://www.ackerlysgrillandgalleyrestaurant.com/ They also have a Facebook page that lists special specials they do, including happy hour from 2-6 Monday-Friday and Friday is 15% for teachers. Go check it out! |
