People tend to wear them under their coats, out of sight, so they don't actually look like they is really wearing a foam noodle. ..... ..... is a vanity type of an issue.

The ice is very smooth ....... ice creepers, traction on both feet is needed ....... plus one or two ski poles for walking is a smooth move. This smooth ice can get wet and slippery what with the sunshine and the temps above freezing.
