Default What happened to Moxie?

Yesterday my daughter-in-law bought me a bottle of Moxie. It was the first time that I have had one since maybe 1960. I was never much a fan of Moxie because of that medicinal bitter after taste.
But this Moxie was totally different. It tasted kind of like sarsaparilla.
I know that Coca Cola bought the brand some years ago, so I guess either my taste buds have changed or they changed the formula.
And that's too bad, because Moxie was part of the local culture of this area for over one hundred years. Moxie isn't available anywhere else.
So I was kind of sad that they changed it to just another drink, and let another bit of history of this area die with it.
