probably a stupid question, but here goes...

what makes a forum thread "closed" - lack of postings? someone said something naughty? the poster that "opened" it decided to "close" it? I saw the 60 Minutes interview with T. Boone Pickens last Sunday and was reminded of the discussion on Wind Power on this Forum last summer and was going to try to revive the discussion (the guy was pretty impressive with his thinking). But, when I went to post a reply, the thread was "closed"... Not a big deal, but just made me wonder as I've seen some replies to threads that have been dormant for months if not years!
