Kitchen Cabinet ?

My daughter just bought a house and the refrig is 1/8" or so to high for the cabinet its going under. There's an inch or so below where the 1st shelf is on the cabinet. Want to remove cabinet(carefully) and cut a half inch off the cabinet. Was planning on using a skil saw with a guide or a table saw with a rip fence. Any issuses with doing this. Any other suggestions.

Did think about buying a smaller height cabinet but don't know if I could match whats there. Besides this maybe cheaper(hopefully).
